A 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering burns, but was being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics when firefighters arrived at around 10am.
Armidale Fire and Rescue station commander Steve McWhirter said the home, which is just four doors down from the location of a house fire on April 23, is being investigated.
“Neighbours ended up calling the fire station because Triple 0 was down, they tried to call Triple 0 but couldn’t,” he said.
“When we responded the house was fully alight, two crews from Armidale responded along with a crew from Uralla.
“We confirmed nobody was in the house and crews did an excellent job putting the fire out.
“A lady was taken to hospital but we’re unaware of the extent of the injuries.”
The fire engulfed several rooms and got into the roof of the house, it took firefighters 20 minutes to get the blaze under control.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said nothing appeared abnormal regarding Triple 0 on their incident report.
“Two units were called to Kennedy Street at 10:05am this morning,” he said.
“We have reports a 35-year-old female was taken to Armidale Hospital with burns.”
