"My mum has undoubtedly been a huge influence on my life and career. Although English is not her first language - she moved to Australia from France in her twenties - she has practised, studied and embraced it to the point she has taught English and literacy at a secondary and tertiary level, retiring as the head teacher of general education at her local TAFE,” Carolyn Millet, editorial department.
“The first person in our family to gain a degree, she beat me only because her name was before mine alphabetically - she and I graduated from the same university on the same day. However, as she had to study part-time over several years while raising three children, she totally deserves that claim. Go, Ma.”
I love being a Mum because even on the worst days my little girl proves my purpose by shooting me a loving smile or giving me a big hug and it makes the whole day better.
