Jim Maxwell voted against the spend, while Glenn Inglis asked what the money would buy “over and above what’s going to happen anyway”.
Director of business and community John Sommerlad said the money would buy electronic advertising featuring Destination Tamworth logos on the side of the field, as well as a number of tickets.

Phil Betts and and acting mayor Helen Tickle were swayed by the opportunity to advertise to Fox Sports website’s reported six million annual unique visitors.
“$20,000 to get that type of advertising is very reasonable,” Cr Tickle said.
An online poll conducted by The Leader found more than 60 per cent of respondents thought council should save the cash instead.
Twenty per cent supported it and believed there was a lot to be gained.
