“There are a couple of grants we can try for but we will need quotes before we can do anything,” said Society treasurer Kerry Dickson.
“We require the services of a builder, preferably in the district, who would enjoy working on a barn style building to replace the current Machinery Barn.”
Mrs Dickson said the building housed a collection of farm machinery, horse drawn vehicles and historic Walcha memorabilia which the Society wishes to preserve and conserve for the future.
“We are hoping to access funds, currently available, from the State and Federal Governments, for construction of buildings in Regional Areas,” Mrs Dickson said.
“The building required would ideally be of sawn timber or timber slabs with an iron roof to replace the machinery barn which is becoming unstable through age and weathering.
Interested builders should contact Mrs Dickson.
