Tamworth Regional Council with the Hats Off To Country committee announced more than $2000 was raised on from a new sideshow to the mid-year country music festival.
The funds from the inaugural Cowboy Crawl charity jaunt were handed over to Ronald McDonald House on Friday.
Ronald McDonald House Tamworth spokesperson, Debbie Herdegen, said the funds will be used to replace the lighting throughout the house with more energy efficient LED lights.
Tamworth Regional Council acting director of business and community, Barry Harley, said council is making great progress in the sustainability space, citing council’s recent move to LED street-lighting in the region.
“It’s fantastic to see another sustainability initiative made possible through this donation,” Mr Harley said.
The 2018 Hats Off Festival will be held from July 12 to 15 with second annual Cowboy Crawl to make another appearance on Friday, July 13.
