Calls of support and donations have come from as far as Queensland and Wee Waa following the arson attack that destroyed the club’s shed and tens of thousands of dollars in contents. The fire happened a month out from the club’s biggest flying day of the year.
“It looks like we’ve acquired a marquee from a guy at Wee Waa,” Club president Larry Hoskins said. “He saw what happened and was aware we were after a marquee, so he donated one.
“A guy from Queensland saw on Facebook what happened and was rather appalled, he saw a barbecue was one of the things that perished and decided he was going to buy us one.” Mr Hoskins said he had also received offers of gazebos and tables and chairs which are still needed for their flying day. “A big thank you to everyone who has shown us some support,” he said.
