The singer-songwriter is in the middle of a national tour and the Moonshiner’s Bar at Tamworth’s Family Hotel is one of the hot stops on his list.
He’ll perform a stellar gig on Thursday, July 6 from 9pm and he’s urging locals and visitors to get in on the action.
Noll was last in the city for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, where he and his mates, the Wolfe Brothers, rocked out at Wests.
Back for the second time in six months, Noll said his love for the Country Music Capital grows stronger with each visit, and he’s looking forward to rocking out on stage during the Hats Off to Country Music Festival.
The former Australian Idol runner up is flying high after the release of his latest single Southern Sky, with his fifth studio album to be released before the end of the year.
“I love Tamworth,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to getting back and I hope to see everyone there.
”The boys and I have been on the road since the seventh of January, we’re really in the zone and having a lot of fun.”
Busy with finishing his album, and his television commitments with Channel 10 show Cruise Mode, it’s all systems go for Noll, and he’s keen to let loose in Tamworth.
“It will be a bit of a sing-along night,” he said.
“There will be songs that I’ve had from day-dot and mixed up with a couple of covers everyone will hopefully know.
“It’s about having some fun and just going out there and hopefully playing songs that everyone knows.”
It’s been some time since his latest release and Noll said his latest album uncovers more about his personality. He’s also had more input into his songs than ever.
“The biggest change has been in my song writing ability,” he told The Leader.
“Mark Holden once said to me that it’s a craft that you hone and get better at.
“The more songwriting you do, the better you become.”
“I think I’m more relaxed in the songwriting department.
“I’m finding I’m getting much more input in songwriting sessions and the lyrical content.
“I think this album will be more ‘me’ than anything I’ve ever done.”
“I think this is much more of a personal album for me and much more close to my heart.”
You can catch Shannon Noll for one night only at the Moonshiner’s Honky Tonk Bar at the Family Hotel, Bridge St, Tamworth from 9pm on Thursday, July 6.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from the venue.
