The five-year-old contracted mastoiditis last August, which put her in Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney for 112 nights.
But Chloe defied the odds to return home and continues to make progress as the city throws its support behind her.
The Brown family was thrown another helping hand this week after Tamworth City Bowling Club hosted a charity bowls day for little Chloe.
Club member Joan Bailey organised the event on February 18, after meeting Chloe while volunteering at the blood bank.
The event saw scores of locals roll out to the club for a social game of bowls, with prizes and a mega raffle of donated goods from local businesses up for grabs.
“We raised $8705,” Ms Bailey said.
“It was way past what we thought we would get.
“Thank you to the businesses of Tamworth and the people who came on the day and anybody who gave cash donations.”
The money, which will be used for ongoing medical expenses, was handed over to the Brown family at the club this week.
“It just made us feel very proud,” Ms Bailey said.
“We didn’t do this on our own.
“We did it with a lot of help and assistance from the Tamworth people and businesses.
“Chloe is a little girl with an unbelievable amount of get-up-and-go.
“To me, if anybody is going to make it, she will.
“She’s such a little fighter, she’s fought since day one.”
