Joanne Stead’s very first solo exhibition was held at Tamworth’s cafe2340 gallery from February to March this year and the local artist is hoping that her upcoming Brisbane show will open up more new markets and opportunities for her.
“The chance to send a large selection of my artworks to Brisbane, and put them in front of a potentially very diverse audience is extremely exciting,” the mother of three said.
The exhibition will be in the ArtSpace of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, a main thoroughfare between two of the major Brisbane hospital’s buildings.
“At 50 works to fill the space, this exhibition has certainly been an undertaking to put together,” Ms Stead said.
Joanne’s aptly named exhibition Choosing to Fly will be on exhibition from August 22 to September 30.
