Werris Creek and Boggabri lead the competition with 18 points, although Uralla are hot on their heels on 17 points after leading all the way to the ninth round.
Dungowan round out the four, only just out of reach of premiers Kootingal after the Cowboys broke a four game losing streak with a big win over Wee Waa last round.
On Saturday the Cowboys will get a good chance to find out how they are travelling after a mid-season injury crisis when they clash with Uralla in what could be a semifinal preview.
Boggabri return after two weeks off and will make the trip to Wee Waa to meet the Panthers, while Bundarra will get a shot at the premiers in Kootingal while it’s the Magpies turn to face the bye.
There is also a battle for the minor title in the lower tier Plate, with Walcha and Manilla tied on top.
The Roos stiff defence could be the difference, the side only letting 198 points in this season for a differential of 250, while the Tigers have let in 318 for a differential of 56.
Bingara sit in second three point behind after a late season surge, while Quirindi round out the four, four point clear of Barraba and the winless Bendemeer.
Saturday will also see a semifinal preview in the Plate when the Bullets host the Grasshoppers in what is almost certain to be the minor semi, while Walcha will travel to Barraba and Bendemeer will have a tough day hosting Uralla.
