Another KBC stalwart, Ron O'Toole, said Norm's efforts have been much appreciated over the three decades of his tenure. "He's been our greenkeeper here for year," Ron O'Toole said. "Played his bowls at Souths and now Wests."
The KBC have shouted Norm a holiday at South West Rocks for a spot of fishing as well in honour of his years of dedicated service.
On the weekend Norm also played in the Kootingal Bowling Club's Pairs Carnival.
It attracted good numbers, with KBC's David Russell and Danny Flemming winning from South Tamworth's Mark Golledge and Ken Trow. Third were Steven Sole and Scott Campbell while Phil Johnson and his son-in-law Ben Walker fourth. Then followed Jason Douglas and Scott Easterman (5th), Luke Russell and Jayson Pinnock (6th).
Also held on the weekend was the completion of Zone 3 State Pairs playoffs. Zone 3 State Pairs Champions are Tye Baker and Peter Hobday (Narrabri) from Inverell East's Kyle Skaines and Adam Ross. Ray Dixon and Clancy Hamilton are the Zone 3 State Seniors Champions after overcoming Armidale City's Richie Clutterbuck and Graham Burke (Armidale City), while Lightning Ridge's Andrew Pope and John Warwick are the Zone 3 State President Reserves Champions.
