They’ll be collecting for local breast cancer support service Serendipity and every cent helps cancer patients in our local area.
Red Bucket Day generally raises about $7000 for a range of services, everything from the improvement of services at the North West Cancer Unit, to providing limited financial assistance to individuals who are experiencing financial stress as a result of undergoing cancer treatment.
“It could be just paying an electricity bill,” said Serendipity publicity officer Carolyn “Liney” Manning.
In the past, the money has also gone towards student radiation scholarships and sponsorship for locals studying remedial oncology massage, to ensure the service can be provided in this area.
The ladies are all volunteers.
