What would a party be without a pie? Take a piece of shortcrust pastry, fill it with a rich beef and beer meat sauce and your have a pie to delight your guests. Make double the quantity, they are sure to go fast.

Beef, beer and bacon pie filling
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 750g chuck or blade steak ( cubed )
- ½ cup seasoned flour
- 3 rindless bacon rashes chopped
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic crushed.
- 1 cup beer
- 1 cup beef stock
- ½ cup tomato paste
Method:
►Place oil onions and garlic in a pot and gently fry for a few minutes, add beef and bacon brown then add all other ingredients simmer on a low heat until cooked.
►Note: Use to fill a short crust pie base and top with a puff-pastry lid
