GJ Gardner Homes and the tradies of Tamworth have joined forces to create the home, which will be auctioned for the Variety charity on August 22.
Special guests at the open day will include Variety – The Children’s Charity ambassador and country music artist John Williamson and Variety chief executive officer Tam Johnston, with Tamworth mayor Col Murray officiating the event and opening the home.
GJ Gardner Homes Tamworth co-owner Natalie Urquhart said they wanted to get involved because of the work Variety did.
“We are absolutely moved by the cause of it all,” she said.
“We wanted to get involved because you can see the difference they make in people’s lives.
“Their whole philosophy is that they allow kids to just be kids, which is seen through the play equipment they make available.
“They do things that just make lives a little bit easier.”
Mrs Johnston said she hoped the Tamworth home would exceed the $200,000 they raised for the charity last year in the Shoalhaven.
The open day from 10am will include a jumping castle and a barbecue, with proceeds going to Variety. Mrs Urquhart and husband Dan thanked all the Tamworth tradespeople who had got involved, with many donating their products, skills and time to raise money for Variety.
“We’ve had amazing community response from trades and suppliers,” she said.
The home is the first built at the new The Trails at the Longyard Estate.
