After rolling them 9-2 the previous week, the competition leaders pumped in 10 to take the points 10-3.
It was a father-son battle for top-scorer billing with captain-coach Andrew and son Isaac Farmilo both bagging hat-tricks.
Andrew had his by half-time as they jumped out to a 5-2 lead.
It was then fairly quiet on the scoring front until the latter stages of the second half.
“We did come over the top of them late,” Farmilo said with Chris White and Jack Cruickshank also chiming in with doubles.
Farmilo thought the two performances were pretty similar.
“We defended just as well as we did last week,” he said.
“Some of our movement of the ball was really good.
“There were a lot of one-touch passes instead of receive and carry.”
They were still a bit selfish in the circle.
The young brigade – Addison Coutman, Patrick Hofman and Calvin Farmilo were good for them in the middle.
“They played well and overlapped well,” Farmilo said.
Souths had some good passages but suffered from a few tired legs in the second half.
“We played well in patches but just started running out of legs,” captain-coach Chris Massey said.
He felt they were right in it in the first half. It was 2-all at one stage.
“I was pretty happy with the first half,” Massey said.
“They got a couple of lucky goals.”
But they couldn’t stick with them in the second half.
It didn’t help that they were down to about “10 and a half people” with Jarrod McCluand injuring his knee.
“You can’t afford to be a couple of metres behind them or they’ll punish you,” Massey said.
Which is what they did.
He thought Luke Albertson had another strong game.
“(And) Will (Turner) and Harper (Galvin) combined well up front and created some chances,” he said.
Turner was able to finish off a couple of those bagging two for the game.
