PERHAPS it’s something in the water, or just sheer ability of three Westdale pacers fronting up in today’s Sky Sport Radio Pace (2360m) at Tamworth Paceway.

Between the three of them, Ian Mabbott’s stablemates Itsa History Maker and Mitrhys Magic and Dwayne Brown’s Blucolla Moon, can boast five wins between them from their last three outings.
Five-year-old mare Blucolla Moon will be looking to grab a hat-trick after her last two wins at Tamworth. Prior to her latest metre win over 1609m in C1-C2 company June 21, she rattled home to take out the 1980m C0-C1pace by over six metres from Uralla-trained Artful Dodger, who went on to win his next start.
And three of her four wins have been on the Tamworth circuit.
Seven-year-old gelding Itsa History Maker (conditional driver James Harding) has won two of his last three starts – both at Tamworth over the 1980m trip. He boasts a five-metre win in C1 company on May 7 then followed with a narrow victory in a three-year-old and upwards a month later. But in his quest for a hat-trick on June 21, he could only manage a midfielder over the 1980m – beaten nearly 30m.
And Mitrhys Magic (Anthony Varga) walloped his rivals back on May 7 when he won the 1609m C2-C4 pace by over five metres.
The 2360m distance could be the tester for many of the starters today according to Mabbott.
“Mitrhys hasn’t been that distance before, but I think Itsa History Maker may have earlier in his career,” he said.
“They’re both fit though – fit enough to be competitive. But a lot can happen in races, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
“Mitrhys is a nice little horse, but always does his best every meeting. And the other fellow will have James Harding driving, he hasn’t driven him yet. He’s a good young driver and I’m confident in both him and the horse.”
Mabbott’s Westdale stable will also be represented by No Confession (1980m Millenium Signs Lordship Pace), Genas Delight (1609m Freestyle Movement Centre Three-Year-Old Pace), Tosca Jack (2360m TAB App Pace) and Ride On A Rainbow in the 2360m National Primary Games (Tamworth July 11 and 12) Pace.
All four will be driven by regular reinsman Anthony Varga.
