In the early hours of Sunday, offenders gained entry through an unlocked door of a Galloway St home and stole a handbag and purse.
Victims in O’Dell St were also awoken by noises at the rear door and discovered jemmy marks the next morning.
Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, thieves gained entry by forcing a lock on a Beardy St home and stole a jacket which was found in the rear of the yard the following morning while a chainsaw was stolen from an unlocked shed in the same street, about the same time.
A lime green Norco mountain bike and a Chucker bike were stolen from a garage in Alana Dr sometime before Saturday morning while a victim in Ohio St was awoken by a thief in her home about 2.15am on Saturday.
Police said the woman observed a figure hunched over in the kitchen but fled when she opened the door.
Nothing appears to have been stolen.
“We want to ensure any witnesses around the area who saw anything to contact police as we investigate,” Acting Inspector John Walkowiak said.
“It’s a reminder to ensure people lock their properties at night.
“We’re investigating the possibility that the incidents might be linked.”
