Motorbike rider dies

A BRIEF will be prepared for the coroner after the death of a motorcycle rider at Gingers Creek, an hour from Walcha.

About 3.30pm on Saturday, a 36-year-old man was riding east on the Oxley Highway when it’s believed he lost control of his bike on a bend and skidded for several metres.

The man came off the bike and crashed head-first into a sign and died at the scene.

Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
