While the inclement weather may have driven the official opening ceremony for the festival indoors yesterday, it didn’t dampen the spirit of the start of the 21st event, with festival-goers encouraged to embrace the Celtic weather. Today and tomorrow, there may be the need for some thermals under the kilts though, with temperatures expected to barely struggle into double figures.
Today the forecast is for wind and rain and a top of 9 after an overnight minimum of 3, and tomorrow, there’s even a prediction for snow and a top temp of 10.
Temperatures are about the same across the remainder of the tablelands, while those on the North West Slopes and Plains will have it a little better – although only marginally – with a top of 14 for Tamworth today and tomorrow, with minimums of 6 and 5 respectively.
Police yesterday issued a warning to visitors to the Barrington Tops, with a forecast of snow, low temperatures and high winds this weekend.
