“It was a big weekend,” Mr Gilfillan said.
“We had all our grandkids and kids here.
“It just had a good feel. It was just a brilliant night. It’s an extended family, that’s for sure. It was just a special night.”
A major act for them over the years, Rex Baldwin, of Gunnedah, played some songs – as did about 20 other singers.
“There were a lot of singers here... they kind of had to get up and only do two songs each so they could get through them,” Mrs Gilfillan said.
The Leader’s Anna Rose made a speech, there was a cake and plenty of good music heard.
“We got the entertainment licence 10 or 12 years ago... it’s just grown and grown and it’s word of mouth, basically,” Mr Gilfillan said.
“If people are happy that’s all you want.
“We’ve been here for 20 years, which is quite a long time, especially in one place and in this type of business.”
