The Tamworth Motorcycle Club has converted the Oakburn Park Speedway into a 520m action-packed stadium cross track.
The course is dominated by tight-banked turns, fast straights and plenty of big airs and bumps.
More than 100 riders have signed up for the premier event, with some top names hitting the course.
Local champions Ben Clarke and Jake Ridley will be in the midst of things and Clarke may have a competitive edge.
Clarke designed the course, which is the first ever put into the speedway, and, as such, had to be the first rider to go around.
The track has been designed fast and will suit the juniors as well as challenge the professionals.
Tamworth Motorcycle Club vice president Mark Donald said the event was big for the club and big for Tamworth.
“It is going to be a really fast track and we have attracted some big names,” Donald said.
“It will be spectacular for the crowd with plenty of action.”
There will be over 100 events over the day ranging from juniors right through.
One of the biggest drawcards will be the Expression Session.
That is the event where riders pick the biggest jump and do acrobatics in the air with and sometimes without their bikes.
There will also be Can-Am Buggies providing fast-paced entertainment.
Even though the track has taken two weeks to create, it has been in the making for over 12 months.
“We always wanted to give it a go,” Donald said.
“The track’s good, the lighting is good, the stands and spectator spots are good.”
“It is an excellent facility and if all goes well we will be back next year for sure.”
There has already been good interest from people keen to see the moto spectacle and tickets will be available at the gate on the day.
The preliminary rounds will start at midday on Saturday with the main events set to start up at 5.30pm.
Families of any size can get in for $45, with adults $15, and children and concession $10.
