With the flick of a switch, mayor Col Murray brought the community Christmas tree, as well as Christmas lighting along Peel St, to life. The family-friendly event was a chance for all involved to kick up their heels as the countdown to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony began.
Jumping castles, face painting, balloon sculpting, giveaways and a special visit from Santa Claus kept the kids occupied, while adults were entertained by the Tamworth RSL Brass Band, Tamworth and District Highland Society Pipe Band and local line-up Cadence.
The Rotary Club of Tamworth catered to hungry tummies with an array of tasty treats to purchase.
The tree and lighting will remain in place until the new year.
