It might have been a little acclimatising for the 20-year-old third year apprentice greenkeeper as he prepares to launch a third assault on the World Left Handers Championship.
That world lefties title is being held in Dundee, Scotland and begins Monday week (June 18).
Justin flies out this Sunday for Scotland.
He’s played in previous World Left Handed Championships titles in New Zealand (Queenstown) and Sweden (Tanum).
“We’re going over a little earlier this time,” Kellet said.
“The last two we’ve arrived just before the start. This time I’ve got three or days of practice on the four courses we’re playing. And with the way the light is over there I will be able to play two 18’s a day if I want.
“It should be good.”
Justin’s first foray into the World Lefties was four years ago as a 16-year-old when he played off a 12 handicap.
In Sweden he was off seven and these days he’s off three.
“Been hitting the ball all right too.
“Had a lesson from Paints (former professional golfer Anthony Painter) the other day and he sorted me out. I’m hitting the ball better and striking it better. My chipping and putting has improved too.”
Kellet isn’t just going over a little early either.
“We’re staying on for a few weeks after it,” he said of what is a family holiday with parents Greg and Sue and brother Andrew.
“We’re heading south from Dundee, spending a few days in London and Paris and a few days in Dubai on the way home as well,” he said.
