The 28-year-old Paddington man died at the scene at Purga after his station wagon collided head-on with a truck on the Cunningham Highway just after 1pm on Sunday.
The station wagon spun into the path of a ute travelling behind it.
"The truck was carrying cattle and due to the crash and fire that followed, a number of animals had to be euthanised," Queensland Police said in a statement on Sunday night.
Two passengers from the ute were taken to hospital as a precaution, while the drivers of the ute and truck escaped without injury.
