A motorbike rider, who was holidaying from Malaysia, died in a highway collision involving his bike and two cars at Yolla in northwest Tasmania on Friday morning.
The man was riding with a group of tourists at the time.
The search for a male driver who ran from the scene is continuing and Tasmania Police western district commander Stuart Wilkinson said a specific line of inquiry is being followed.
"We are investing significant resources into locating the person who left the scene," he said on Monday .
"This is a situation where a person has tragically lost their life ... we urge the driver to come forward and make themselves known to police."
The man is described as a Caucasian, with a slim build, about 168cm tall, with dark hair and unshaven.
Police believe the man was driving a stolen car.
Anyone with information, including about a blue Holden Adventra station wagon seen driving near Yolla around 10am on Friday, has been asked to contact police.
Two other men were also injured in the crash, with one flown to hospital.
