Sydney Harbour Bridge climate rider Glenn Morris to ride through Tamworth ahead of 2022 federal election

The organic beef producer made headlines back in 2016 when he rode his horse Hombre across a crowded Sydney Harbour Bridge in the name of the environment.

And this ride will be no different, with Mr Morris passionate about creating a greener future.

"We're seeing consequences now," Mr Morris said.

"When I started it was all things that 'might' happen in the future, but we're starting to see all the consequences.

"Once climate change is well and truly upon us we won't be able to stop it then."

Mr Morris said he has been applying good, sustainable farming practices for the past 20 years - meaning the solutions are out there.

"It's just about the political will and some real leadership."

Mr Morris is set to arrive in town on Friday with fellow rider Tony Macbeth and will stick around for the 'climate picnic' being held on Saturday morning in Bicentennial Park.

He said he hoped his novel arrival would help inspire voters before they head to the polls later this month.

"The greatest power we have to influence change in our lives for the future is at voting time," Mr Morris said.

"It's an important time for everyone to consider the decisions they make that can influence the outcomes for their children and grandchildren."

With Australia ranked last for climate action in the developed world, Mr Morris called the position "alarming" and "embarrassing".

"It's our senior politicians in this country who are holding Australia back," he said.

"This is an urgent call out for better and honest leadership on the issue."
