Held in memory of the much-loved former Quirindi local, who passed away after sustaining a head injury playing for his beloved Lions in 2015, the tournament is returning to the country with the Orange Emus rolling out the welcome mat.
After the inaugural tournament was played in Harden, Quirindi hosted for two years. It then hit the big smoke with the 2018 and 2019 editions (there was no tournament in 2020) being held in Sydney - at the home of Eastern Suburbs, who Tooth had a strong connection with playing his colts rugby there.
A day that encapsulates the things that he loved - rugby, friends and having a good time, since it's 'humble beginnings' on a polo field in 2015, the Toothy Ten's has become the premier tens tournament in NSW.
The last edition drew a record 21 mens teams and also saw the addition of a women's competition.
The tournament also serves as a major fundraiser for the Nick Tooth Foundation, which was created off the success of the inaugural event to 'raise awareness and aid in the prevention of sports-related brain injury, and to support the wellbeing of the broader rugby community'.
