Following a committee meeting on Tuesday night the association have outlined a pathway for the return of touch football, subject to the public health orders on the return of community sport.
Committee member Steph Halpin said it is exciting to be planning to be hitting the field again.
"It's been a long time," she said.
"Obviously community sport is the heart of Tamworth in a lot of ways."

"We have a big sporting culture across a lot of codes."
She also spoke of the importance of sport to people's not only physical, but also mental, well being.
"For us it was really important that when we could get people back on the field safely, and within the public health regulations, we did; it was a priority for us," she said.
They are still seeking clarification on some issues but have been advised that any participants 16 and over will have to be double vaccinated.
The association had just started it's summer competition when Tamworth was locked down and all sport came to a halt.
Halpin said they tossed up a few ideas for restarting, one of which was a super series, but decided to start anew and allow more teams to enter (player registrations and fees already paid will carry over).
The sport has seen a resurgence in interest in recent times.
For the competition that had just kicked-off, Halpin said there had been a 30 per cent increase in teams.
The primary (K-6) competition is slated to be the first to kick-off with a tentative date set of Monday October 25, running through to December 13.
There will be no finals series but the association is planning to stage the last day as a gala day "with some great activities and games".
The Wednesday mixed competition is penciled in to get underway on October 27 and continue through until May 11 with a break over Christmas and January.
The senior competition will kick off the following night. It will run a bit longer with the final games set down for June 22, with a break for Christmas and January.
The initial few weeks of the open competitions will be "a bit of a taster", Halpin said, just to ease the players back into it after no community sport activity for, by then, almost four months.
New teams and players wanting to nominate can do so through the association's Facebook page or via email at tamworthtouch@bigpond.com.
Registrations close on Wednesday October 20.
Cost is $25 for the primary, $100 for the mixed and $120 for the seniors.
