Casual COVID contact sites have been listed across Tamworth, Moonbi and Glen Innes.
Anyone who attended Pickles Auctions in Tamworth on Wednesday, September 15, between 8.55am and 9.10am; or the Caltex service station at Moonbi on Monday, September 13, between 5.55am and 6.05am; or Wednesday September 15 from 8.20am to 8.40am; and 12.05pm to 12.20pm, needs to get a COVID test and isolate until a negative result is received.
The businesses have been listed as casual contact sites by Hunter New England Health and more exposure sites may be announced as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Glen Innes residents will find out on Friday morning if they will head back into lockdown, after a second COVID-positive case was confirmed on Thursday evening.
Two people from the same family have tested positive, and at least one was active in the community during their infectious period on September 14 and 15.
Contact tracing has been completed into the movements of the person who first tested positive on Wednesday night, and three contact venues have been listed.
The exposure sites are all from Tuesday and are: Kent Engineering and Mechanical from 9am to 9.10am; National Australia Bank from 10.25am to 10.35am; and Pathology New England from 9.45am to 10.15am.
Around 15 casual contacts have been identified by NSW Health. They are all being tested and are in isolation.
The person who returned the first positive case had been in Sydney for essential work. They are now isolating at home.
In a social media post on Thursday night, Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall said a decision is yet to be made regarding any lockdown.
"A decision will be made .... about whether Glen Innes Severn local government area will go back into lockdown, and if it does, for how long," he said.
"I will obviously advise the community immediately when I know [what] that decision is."
Things are looking more positive for Gunnedah with Hunter New England Health revealing a person who had tested positive for COVID-19 had not been in the community while infectious.

Officials said the case was linked to a positive case from Narrabri, which was announced on Thursday, September 9.
For these reasons, Deputy Premier John Barilaro said on Thursday, the local government area would be "unlikely" to be placed under lockdown orders.
"If that is the scenario that is in front of us, then I would say we are not going into lockdown for Gunnedah," he said.
"That's all explainable in the close contact to the Narrabri case, no major exposure and not in the community for a period, so if that all checks out we won't be naming Gunnedah tomorrow [Friday] that's for sure."
Fragments of the COVID-19 virus had recently been found in the town's sewage.
There are also concerns for the Inverell community, after traces of the virus were found in the town's sewage. However, no cases have been identified in the region.
At 10.59am on Thursday, they weren't sure whether they would be released from stay-at-home orders or be stuck with them for another week. By 1pm they were free.
Narrabri Shire Council mayor Ron Campbell said despite the quick turnaround, locals had already begun hitting the streets as businesses scurried to open their doors.
"It was fantastic news this morning, even now people who were closed are opening up their doors so it's been a very quick reaction from the community," he said.
"And it was a great thing that we were opened at 1 o'clock today rather than what we expected which was 12.01 on Saturday morning, so that was a good thing and an added bonus."
