The Jacob Perrett-trained gelding came into the XXXX Gold Maiden Plate (1600m) with zero wins from 27 runs but started as favourite and lived up to the tag.
Jousting kept finding in the home straight under the urging of jockey Jake Pracey-Holmes before kicking away late to score by two and a half lengths over the Sean Blayden-trained Avashiin.

The Tamworth trainer - who has had Jousting for three of his 28 starts - said the six-year-old had a habit of switching off but was happy "to see him get a win on the board".
"To be honest, he hasn't put a foot wrong since I've had him - he's had plenty of opportunities," Perrett told Sky Thoroughbred Central after the race.
"The owner told me not to worry about his form - just work with what I've got."
Despite the big margin at the finish line, the run wasn't all smooth sailing.
About 50 metres from home, Jousting put on a little sidestep which unbalanced Pracey-Holmes.
"I actually thought I was going to fall off him, thank God I didn't," he said on Sky Thoroughbred Central.
Perrett hopes to race Jousting over longer distances now while Pracey-Holmes thought the gelding has improvement to come.
"The whole way through the run he was gawking. I just had to keep his mind on the job," Pracey-Holmes said.
"He's got plenty more to give - just gotta ask him for it."
