No one could have scripted how well the return would be but Enks was happy to knock the cobwebs off and make his return on Thursday in the Jackson Quality Meats Armidale Pace behind Groovy Shannon, who is trained by his father Les.

"Dad wanted me to get my licence back, so I said 'righto' and that [winning] was the end result - winning the race was the best feeling," he said.
Enks has overcome some ups and downs off the track and maybe followed the quote "We must find a way to rise above our mistakes"
He has certainly picked himself up and he is proud of what he has achieved.
"Giving up alcohol was the best thing I have done in my life."
Keeping his connection with harness racing as a track attendant at Tamworth, as well as at Narrabri and his home track of Armidale, helped inspire him to resume driving.
Following eight trial drives, he regained his licence from Harness Racing NSW.
Les said of his son: "I'm pleased he is back; it will take the pressure off me."
Enks picked up drive of the day for the win.
