Oxley police are appealing for the man - who they claim knows he is wanted by officers - to hand himself in after a 35-year-old was stabbed with a broken beer bottle in Gunnedah.
The glassing happened after an argument unfolded at a campsite off Chandos Street on Saturday night.
"The victim suffered deep lacerations to his head behind his ear," Oxley Detective Inspector Jason Darcy told the Leader.

"He was taken to Gunnedah hospital and received stitches."
He has since been released, police confirmed. Police were alerted to the incident after the victim was taken to hospital.
"The person of interest is known to the victim, and is currently outstanding," Detective Darcy said.
"Police are making an appeal for him to hand himself in to assist Oxley police with their inquiries."
Investigations are continuing and anyone with information to assist the investigation is urged to contact Oxley police.
