It showed that the 33-year-old electrician will be a huge bonus in the Blues' 2021 premiership quest.
Originally from Coffs Harbour, he has been somewhat of a journeyman since trying his hand at the Gold Coast Titans.
"That was when they first kicked off but I couldn't break in," he said, ahead of the Blues' clash against the Roosters at Tamworth's Rugby Park on Sunday.
His younger brother, Kevin, could though and had five impressive years with the Titans.
"I moved around a bit," Gordon said. "Played in Wollongong and Canberra and even had a year playing rugby on the Gold Coast."
Gordon moved to the North West last year (through work and a friend) - playing rugby with Gunnedah and working at the underground mine.
"I decided to jump back to my roots (rugby league) with Narrabri this year," he said.
"We've got the makings of a good side," he also said. "If we keep everyone fit and healthy, we will go well."
