The four-year-old bounced back from a last-start eighth to win the John "Mouse" Sinclair Class 1 Handicap (1400m) with Bullock in the saddle.

"Aaron just makes the difference sometimes. He's so calm and collected in the barriers and he [Cosmic Bullet] can be a handful in there," Morgan told Sky Thoroughbred Central.

"He's always shown good ability at trackwork but when it comes to race day the occasion just gets the better of him."

Bullock told Thoroughbred Central that "he probably hit the front too soon" but the pair still got the job done.

"He was really good actually. Cody said he can be a handful of a horse didn't give me any inkling of that at all," Bullock said.

"Hopefully he'll get better and better."

Cosmic Bullet jumped well from barrier one before settling fourth on the fence.

The gelding was full of running on the turn as Bullock cut the corner to find the lead and then the middle of the track.

Cosmic Bullet found plenty late to hold off the challenge of Dream Song who finished half a length off the winner.

Morgan expected the gelding to improve and win more races next preparation.
