Tamworth received over 20mm of rain through the first half of Saturday which forced Tamworth Baseball Incorporated's (TBI) decision to call off the first round of matches.
"It was just too wet," president David McMurray said.
"Round one's a washout and we'll start round two next weekend, all being well and sunny."

McMurray said it was disappointing to have to call off the first weekend of baseball matches.
"It certainly was because you get to the beginning of the season and people are keen, the committee is keen and all of a sudden you have to go to plan B," McMurray said.
"But that doesn't stop us. We're still going to do what we said we were going to do [in round one] and players will get an extra week of training in before their first match."
Along with the round one matches, the TBI committee had planned to recognise past and present life members with a presentation in between games. McMurray confirmed that will now happen in round two.
