Such has been the loss of cattle at Gunnedah FC. The club has lost 16 players from its Northern Inland Premier Division squad.
While a couple players have joined the club and a handful of juniors will be promoted, the void isn't completely filled.

"Out of the 16, probably eight were first grade players," Sardinha said.
"Our squad is quite small this year compared to last year. We've lost a lot of depth and experience."
The 2021 season will serve as rebuilding year for Gunnedah FC and it could be "a long year".
"We don't, to be honest, have a lot of ambitions this year which is sad as last year we were able to get both first grade and reserve grade into the semi-finals which was a really great effort by the squad," Sardinha said.
Sardinha said hard work, patience and resilience would be needed this season.
Sardinha plans to lead the way with returning coach Andy Cygan who will also be suiting up.
"We have no choice," Sardinha said.
"We are so passionate about the club and every year, especially, Andy puts so much time and effort into the club that I think I would feel terrible if I couldn't do that [play] with him.
"Andy and I will definitely be putting the boots on again and see if we can help just by sharing our experience and hopefully build our confidence."
Gunnedah FC will take part in the Johnson Cup in Tamworth on Saturday.
They have landed in pool three with Oxley Vale Attunga White, Tamworth FC and Kootingal FC.
"We have 16 players going to the Johnson Cup and we know we have a very difficult draw," he said.
"But we're definitely excited to kick the ball again. We've had pre-season for over two months and unfortunately the number of players in the squad isn't ideal but those players that are here are working hard."
