RECENT floods damaged Wallamore Road near Tangarratta Creek and the road remains closed between Bowlers Lane and Gidley Siding Road.

Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) is investigating the damage caused by significant flooding across the region.
Repairs at Wallamore Road are expected to start early next week with the road to be temporarily reopened by the end of the week.
Wallamore Road will first open with a reduced speed limit of 20km/h and a load limit of 10 tonnes.

A public notice released by TRC said the concrete barriers will be in place to enforce the slower speed limit and load limit restrictions.
The Tangarratta causeway will be upgraded in June 2021 as part of works scheduled before the floods.
The causeway will be closed to drivers for three months while the council completes the upgrades.
