Despite the heavy rainfall during the week, students from primary schools around the Armidale Diocese travelled to Inverell for the Winter Trials for soccer, netball and rugby league.
An array of talent was on display across the different sports with the young sportsmen and women playing a number of games and showing off their abilities and skills.

The rugby league participants were privileged to have a number of selectors present on the day but in particular Toni Palmer.
Palmer has been involved in sport since 1981 and has dedicated 40 years to primary sport in the Armidale Diocese, in not only rugby league but also athletics. Her love for the game and the opportunity to offer a pathway like this for country kids, drives her passion for kids sport.
The netball trialists displayed some amazing agility and speed on the court which made the selectors job difficult to choose the eight players to make up the Diocesan team.
It was the same for the soccer. With over 80 children trialing for girls and boys sides, the competition was fierce.
The selected teams will now travel down to Bathurst on Friday to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding winter trials.
