GNT coach Mick Schmiedel and GNT pathways manager Peter Stevens will oversee the trials and believe they will come up with a handy side to tackle the quickly approaching Country Championships.
The Tigers first match is on February 27.

They play a trial against Newcastle at Morrie Breen Oval, Wyong, on February 13.
"The pleasing thing for me as the coach is the girls have nominated to play," Schmiedel said.
"We haven't gone out and watched them play or held Greater Northern trials. It shows they are all keen and want to play. It's good for the growth of the game."
Stevens said Friday's trials will help selectors name a squad of up to 22 players.
"At this stage we have around 40 players (of the original 60 nominees) who have answered emails to play in the trials," he said. "But expect more to come in, and we hope to be able to pick three squads to play in this Friday's trials.
"We hope that every player will get around 40 to 45 minutes [of] game time. This year is a different program to last year because of the pandemic but we expect to come up with a strong squad."
Meanwhile, the Greater Northern Tigers under-16 and under-18 sides have already begun training and start their Country Championships campaigns against Newcastle in Cessnock on February 27.
