The 2021 mixed season kicks off tonight which also sees the Tamworth Touch Association re-affiliate with NSW Touch.
The re-affiliation opens up representative pathways for Tamworth touch footballers and while registrations haven't sky-rocketed, TTA committee member Steph Halpin said there had been "heaps of interest" in the representative scene.

"There's guys like Tony Bishop. He gives a lot to the club and is looking at getting 35s, 40s and 50s men's teams," Halpin said.
"We're looking at getting open mixed and open mens at this point and we've got the likes of Kimberley Resch, who's played touch for Australia, come back and wants to give it a good crack again."
The association is set to do a rebrand in the near future and will also focus on making sure all their coaches and referees have up-to-date accreditation.
The second half of the year will see most of the representative action as they build toward the 2021 State Cup in December.
"There's the country championships [in October], we're also looking at holding a mixed gala day here in town and then State Cup," Halpin said.
"We did a gala day here in 2019. It was small but it was a really great day with great touch."
Before all that, the local competition will be run and Halpin said there's still time to nominate.
The first weeks are trials for grading and Halpin welcomed players - whether they have a team or not - and referees to put their name forward.
"We've stayed steady with nominations in terms of team numbers but we'd love to get more people on board," she said.
Contact Tamworth Touch Association on their Facebook page or email tamworthtouch@bigpond.com to nominate.
