The man accused of a knifepoint attack on a teenager and his friend has been granted conditional bail in Tamworth Local Court, charged with the alleged assault outside a unit block last week.

Juan Augustus Sampson, 18, can only leave his bail address at Oxley Vale the company of specific people for the purposes of Centrelink, court appearances, medical or school appointments.
He did not enter a plea to the charges, the matter will return to court next week.

A TEENAGER and his friend have made a lucky escape after an alleged attempted armed robbery at knifepoint.
A man will face court today charged with the alleged assault outside a unit block in Tamworth last week.
The 17-year-old alleged victim and his friend were reportedly walking along the footpath when a ute stopped and two men got out and confronted them.
Police claim one of the men grabbed hold of the teenager and threatened him armed with a knife, demanding his bag.
The teenager and his friend were able to break free of the alleged attackers and run to a nearby apartment on Robert Street where Oxley Police District officers were notified just before 9:30pm, last Thursday.
After an investigation, an 18-year-old man was arrested at a West Tamworth home on Tuesday after a short foot pursuit.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with assault with intent to rob, armed with offensive weapon, and breach of bail.
Police also charged the man with aggravated break-in dwelling in company; steal and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner in connection with an alleged break and enter at a Moore Creek home on Tuesday, 8 December where a Toyota Hilux was stolen.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Tamworth Local Court today.
