ROADS have been closed in the Tamworth and Gunnedah region after heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon led to water and debris covering surfaces.

Tamworth Regional Council confirmed Wallamore Road had been shut off to all traffic, and remained closed on Wednesday morning.
Warral Road was closed at the latest update at 11am on Wednesday, but council workers were on the scene clearing the road, so it should be open by afternoon.

Burgmanns Lane remained closed on Wednesday morning, and council expected it to stay shut for some time.
Water was reportedly lapping at the sides of Calala Lane on Tuesday night, but traffic was back normal on Wednesday morning.
Gunnedah roads which have been affected by the storm, according to Live Traffic NSW, include:
- Round Hill Road at Breeza - closed between Clifton Road and Perfrement Road
- Clifton Road at Breeza - open with caution between Breeza and Long Point Road
- Long Point Road at Breeza - open with caution between Pullaming Road and Clifton Road
- Quia Road at Gunnedah - open with caution between Black Jack Road and McDonald Road
Authorities have reminded people to never drive, ride or walk through flood water, because it can quickly turn dangerous.
