While it's a wonderful time of year for many, it's easy to get caught out by the wacky trading hours.
The Leader has put together a list of opening times for the businesses and services you might need during the silly season.
Supermarkets
Large supermarkets are open every day except December 25, Christmas Day.
Tamworth's two Woolworths stores will open from 8am to 6pm on December 26, Boxing Day, and from 8am to 8pm on December 27.
Tamworth's three Coles locations will be open for business every day except Christmas Day. Trading hours are reduced slightly for the Peel Street shop, but all three Coles stores will be open until 11pm on Christmas Eve.
Tamworth's Aldi shop in Centrepoint will be closed on December 25, and will reopen at 9am on December 26.

Bottleshops
The local BWS store, Dan Murphy's and Liquorland will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open in both the lead-up to Christmas and afterwards.
Chemists
Tamworth's two Chemist Warehouse stores will be open over the festive season, but closed on Christmas Day.
They will have reduced hours on Boxing Day and on Monday, December 28.
Priceline Pharmacy will also be open each day except Christmas Day.
Other local pharmacies may have reduced trading hours for Christmas, so it is best to check each outlet's website.
Petrol stations
Most large 24-hour petrol stations will remain open for Christmas, but it's best to check each outlet, especially if you're travelling.
Landfill and waste
Tamworth's tip on Forest Road will be service the community every day over the holiday period, except for Christmas Day.
Landfill centres in smaller towns across the region have reduced trading hours, so it's best to check the council website for details.
Entertainment
Tamworth's only cinema - Forum 6 - will have screenings every day except December 25. The business has extended its COVID-19 trading hours to seven days per week for the school holidays.
Tamworth Regional Gallery will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
The Capitol Theatre will close on Christmas Eve and will not reopen until 2021.
If you need to beat the heat during the Christmas holidays, both the Tamworth Olympic Pool and the pool at Scully Park will be open to the public.
Both pools will close on Christmas Eve at 5pm, will stay closed Christmas Day, and will reopen as normal for Boxing Day. They will both open on New Year's Day, but only between midday and 7pm.
The Tamworth Marsupial Park and the local botanic gardens will be closed on Christmas Day, but otherwise open as normal throughout the festive period.

McDonald's
After a snack or a beverage? Tamworth's 24-hour McDonald's restaurants are some of the few eateries that will be open to the public on Christmas Day.
Other restaurants around town will host a Christmas meal, but they are by booking only.
