It's the highlight of any avid musical, dance or dramatic student's calendar, but there were the sounds of many hearts breaking when the iconic Schools Spectacular was cancelled this year.
However, a special broadcast on Saturday night will act as a salve for those students missing out.
A highlights reel of Schools Spec performances over the years has been compiled, with Tamworth and Guyra students' memorable moments to be relived once more.
Oxley High school's Hannah Burton is set to be one of the featured artists, and Guyra Central's Savannah Roberts' iconic dance routine will show as well.
And if you keep your eyes peeled, you will also see students from Armidale Secondary College , Glen Ines High, Inverell High, Oxley High, Quirindi High, Tamworth High, Tamworth South Public and Wee Waa High.
School Spectacular will go live at 7pm on Saturday night on Prime7.
It marks the first time in 37 years that thousands of the states most talented singers, dancers and musicians have not mesmerised audiences with the most colourful and biggest entertainment spectacle of its kind in the world.
For COVID-19 safety reasons reluctantly the Schools Spectacular was put into recess for 2020.
As NSW Teachers Federation spokesperson reflected on the disruptive year everyone has endured.
"In true Spectacular tradition, it is with a unique celebration that we end the 2020 school year ... bring on our future stars!" they enthused.
