Had it been held a day later, the players would have had to compete with temperatures of above 38 degrees as well as their opponents.
It still got warm over the weekend, a top of 34 on Sunday, but club president Brian Brooking said it was a cracking weekend.

"The weather was fantastic - well borderline - and it was positive to take a step closer to getting back to normal."
The tournament was played over Saturday and Sunday with close to 40 players turning out.
