Tamworth Musical Society's Peter Ross said the cast will be ready.
"We got more than three-quarters of the way through rehearsals on the last stretch into opening night, but then everything was stopped in March, so it's really great to get back to it and dust off the cobwebs," he said.
"Everyone is loving being back at rehearsals, there have been lots of smiles on faces and I think everyone's keen."
Mr Ross said COVID restrictions are still in place, but it's been great to get back to dancing and some singing.
There was a buzz about town when the iconic musical was announced as a project for the group, and Mr Ross said it's still clear locals are still very much looking forward to opening night.
With a whopping take-up of more than 1000 tickets sold for shows on the original dates, Mr Ross said he was pleased to discover more than 800 of those tickets had been held over until the new dates in March 2021.
"There is a real confidence in audiences coming back to our venues," he said.
