Essential Energy data shows streets in the West Tamworth area near Tamworth Golf Club have been without power since just after 9am, and the electricity could stay off until early this afternoon.

Streets like Northview Street, Edith Street, Donald Street, Bent Street, Chisolm Street, Edinburgh Street and parts of Stewart Avenue and Southview Street have been affected, according to Essential Energy.
It is understood the outage was unplanned and the cause remains unknown.
The Essential Energy outage map indicated more than 1400 residents were impacted earlier this morning, and about 250 are still experiencing no power.
The latest update shows power is expected to come back on for the last few affected streets at about 1pm on Tuesday.
Essential Energy is working to investigate the cause and fix the problem.
