Because of government rules surrounding coronavirus, French will then need to self-isolate for two weeks.
It is hoped the Super League season will restart in mid-August, but no date has been set for training to resume.
French had returned to Australia for family reasons, and had planned to quickly return, but the season was halted and he decided to remain in Australia.
Wigan Today said French started this season "in scorching form". He is fourth in the Steve Prescott Man of Steel player of the year award.
The fan favourite is contracted to Wigan until the end of 2021, having left Wigan mid-season in 2019 after being shut out of the Eels' lineup.
