The former high school history teacher - handed a one-year development contract by the Storm this year - came on late in the side's defeat of South Sydney at AAMI Park last Friday night.
Lewis - who left Ashford at age 17 after signing with St George-Illawarra and has had a shocking run with injuries - spoke to the Leader earlier this week.
"Obviously it would have been better to get more than just the five minutes at the end [of the Rabbitohs] clash," he said, "but it's a long season and I didn't do anything wrong.
"So, I'm hoping to get a few more runs this year. I just need to stay injury free .... and they'll be some chances."
Lewis's Ashford-based parents, Mick and Pauleen, were the designated ball retrievers for the Souths clash. That allowed them to sidestep the crowd ban for NRL matches.
Nelson Asofa-Solomona has replaced Lewis on the interchange bench for Saturday's match.
