Liverpool Plains Shire Council resolved to reduce Wallabadah water restrictions from Level 5 to Level 2 effective from Wednesday.
This means no fixed hose use at any time, with handheld hoses and drippers only allowed from 5pm to 7pm.
Pools can be topped up from the town water supply.
Wallabadah was placed on Level 5 restrictions following storms in late January, which pushed a deluge of dirty water impacting supplies to the main source Water Pump Station (WPS) 2.
To combat this, water was trucked into Wallabadah until its secondary source could be brought online.
Since then, the backup supply, the WPS 1, has been supplying the town while remediation and testing were undertaken.
However this source was approaching 'day zero' before supply was able to be changed back.
The WPS 2 bore is now operational after testing of the water ensured it met the Australian Drink Water Guidelines (ADWG) requirements.
Monitoring of the water supply continues.
